On January 1st, 2009, Leo van den Thillart and the entire Bear Stearns Private Funds Group team transitioned from J.P. Morgan. Leo van den Thillart is in the process of forming a new global placement business with Phil Pool.

On February 16th, 2007, Bear Stearns & Co., Inc., through a wholly owned subsidiary, acquired Crane Capital Associates, a private equity fund placement business with offices in London, Toronto, New York, Munich, Melbourne and Tokyo.
